Every year La Luz de Jesus Gallery has their famous group show called “Everything but the Kitschen Sync “, where tons of artists and illustrators submit their work for possible inclusion for this event. I’ve been lucky enough to have been accepted; this being the third year. Here is my piece.

The concept of “Envy” was something I came up with when I first joined the “Seven Deadly Sinners” as an opening piece. Of course, who isn’t envious of Mark Ryden at least, I sure as hell am, so I made an “attempt” at doing my own version. The subject matter isn’t a huge stretch for me since I’m already incorporating similar elements, and the little girl is based on a picture of myself at 2, but I’m certainly not claiming to be as technically capable. I just want to clarify that!

This is the second piece for the “St. Valentine’s Day Massacre” show, I’ll be running off to ship it TODAY!! Talk about cutting it short (as always).

Like “My Bloody Valentine”, it’s a 10 x 10″ wood mirror, done in acrylic.

We’re also planning a big anthology-style book of all our work, old and new, and publishing it through Lulu.com. We’ll have a few dozen copies for sale a the show, as well as online. Here is my contribution for the book. Each one of us is doing our own version of a bird for the cover.
