When asked, I wanted to be either a mermaid or Mrs. Dracula. Of course at five, I hadn’t realized that both characters were described as luring men to their deaths, but hey, I was little after all – I just thought they were pretty and I liked their lifestyles. Mrs. Dracula had loooong, black hair, got to stay up all night, sleep all day and lived for hundreds of years. She also ate spider sandwiches, which I wasn’t too keen on (the blood part didn’t bother me as much for some reason).
I also toyed with the idea of becoming a mermaid because I was fascinated (as most kids are, I’m sure) of being able to breath underwater. I could live in Atlantis, look for sunken treasures, and find out if there were such things as sea monsters (another thing I was into as a kid). I like seafood too, so that wasn’t a problem.
